At the Annual General Meeting in October every year, an Executive Management Committee is elected to manage the affairs of the Society for the following year. This management committee is made up of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and any other members of the Society members elect or appoint.
For the 2020- 2021 year our President is Hugh Taylor, Vice President is Ken Butler, Secretary is Maxine Jones and Treasurer is Lyn McCoombes. The other members of the committee are Carole Lee, Martin Geddes, Helen Norris and Sandi Jones.
Other committees are not regularly implemented at Cooneana Heritage Centre, however, as there are several associate groups on site, it is sometimes necessary to form a joint committee for a specific purpose. In that case, the committee is tasked with achieving the desired outcome on behalf of the Centre.
One such committee has been the Heritage Day Committee in past years, tasked with organising participant groups, volunteers, activities and entertainment.
One member of the Ipswich Genealogical Society, the Historical Motorcycle Club, the Spinners, Weavers, Fibre Artisans of Ipswich, the Queensland Metal Artisans Collective and the Ipswich Mini Crafters takes out membership of Ipswich Historical Society to liaise between the groups.
This gives them the right to attend and vote at Members' meetings on items that concern their members.
