Cooneana After Dark
Friday evening 11 September 2026 from 6pm to 9pm will be your opportunity to experience how life was after dark in the 19th century. No electricity, so lanterns or candles were the light sources. No running water in the house and a copper to heat it so if you wanted a bath after dark you had to light the copper then carry the hot water to your hip bath!! Cooneana Homestead built in 1868 will be the place to explore by lamplight. (Bring a friend as there is a ghost in one of the rooms). Then from 7pm Jack Sim, raconteur extraordinary, will share Ipswich tales that he has gathered as he researched some of the graves in Ipswich cemetery.
The Cooneana Blacksmiths will have their forges flaming and our horse-drawn vehicles will be on display so bring your camera and take some awesome photos!
A glass of wine or a soft drink will be offered, and you can purchase one of Wendy's tasty spuds cooked in their jackets and filled with delicious extras.
This event is not suitable for young children under 12 years.
Tickets are $15.00 per person.
