Box Flat Memorial Service
The Box Flat disaster occurred on 31 July 1972 and a Memorial Service is held annually on this date at 10am at the Swanbank memorial site.
Eighteen men died in and after the explosion. Their families and friends, with officials and interested members of the public attend to commemorate their lives.
